5 Tips for a Healthy Summer

Summer is one of the most loveable seasons, right? It is the season to party, to spend the day at the beach, to surf, to swim, to play and workout outside, to have a picnic at the park with family and friends, etc. But, it is also the season in which the weather gets extreme and the heat can be unbearable up to the point where it can harm our health. So, here’s a few tips to help you have a healthy summer so you can enjoy the hot weather to the fullest!

 Look for the Shaded Areas

Staying out all day during summers is pretty common. So, try to reduce your chances to get hyperthermia by staying at the shaded areas for as long as you can. You can buy a parasol or a canopy and keep it in your car so it will always be available whenever you decide to go to the beach or the park.

Stay Hydrated

During summers our body dries quickly. Therefore, it is important to drink a lot of water in order to stay hydrated. Having sweet beverages and sodas isn’t enough – so drink water as much as you can. Your body needs it so it won’t get dehydrated.

Long Sleeves and Hats

It is extremely hot outside and all you want is to sit at the beach with your bathing suit or bikini – but, the sun can cause sunburns to your skin and therefore, it is best to wear hats and protect your skin with thin long sleeves shirts or thin shawls.

Use Sunscreen

Sunscreen can add protection to your skin when staying outside during hot weather days. It doesn’t protect your skin entirely so make sure you still choose shaded areas to sit at rather than staying under the direct sunlight. Also, it is important to use moisturizer after you expose your skin to direct sunlight so your skin will be able to rejuvenate itself and get its moisture levels back up.

So what do we have to do in order to have a healthy summer? Stay at shaded areas, drink water, wear hats, use sunscreen and above all – enjoy your summer!
